I have no idea why I have created a blog, because up until ten minutes ago, I felt that blogs were ridiculous and, to be frank, useless. However, sometimes the frivolous parts of life are what make life all the more worthwhile.

Besides, what else do we have to do?

The title of my blog was going to be Let Them Eat Cake, but I decided to simply call it Lace and Cake, two items associated with a certain air of excess and superiority when used together. And those are two important themes I would like to discuss. I'll mention what I've read, what I've experienced, and possibly what others have experienced--it all depends on what's out there. 

I live in New York City, and I've come to realize that often times I find myself leaning towards superficial ways and putting on pretentious airs.  In order to stop taking myself so seriously, I take a step back, and writing about what I've witnessed always clears my head. Good luck!
